Il Duomo – Cathedral of Santa Maria del Fiore

The cathedral is by far the most popular tourist attraction in Florence. With a capacity of 20,000 people, the duomo was built in a Gothic style and dates from the 13th century. Its exterior was created using pink, white and green marble, and contains many interesting statues and elaborate doors. Once you enter this amazing duomo, you will realize that its popularity is typical for an architectural masterpiece. This building is known as one of the oldest in Florence, dating from the 11th century.
